The ones of you that know me will undoubtedly raise their eyebrows and tilt their head at me right now. Yes. Yes, I know. M doesn’t plan her monthly TBR. M doesn’t plan one for the summer or winter or Christmas and whatever because she knows exactly that she will never stick to it.
But hear me out. I’m starting to get desperate. I know nobody should ever pressure themselves to read more. I don’t wanna pressure myself either and my Goodreads Challenge counter is screaming at me that I’m 13 books behind, so who cares?
But fact is:
- my Goodreads Challenge counter is currently screaming at me that I’m 13 books behind.
- I already put my list 20 books lower than last year because why not
- I aquired about 20 new books in the last three months
- my TBR is trying to kill me by slowly growing around my bed and keeping me there without access to the fridge
- it’s just plain sad
I really want to read all those books on my TBR. I really do. I wanna sink into all these worlds and discover new places and meet new characters and go on adventures with them. I don’t even know why my reading time is so drastically decreasing. I just know that it is. And that’s sad. So sad. So sad. It’s a sad, sad situation.
So I have decided to try a Fall TBR. Just a pre-selection if you want, to nudge me in the right direction.

There they are. I know, it’s only four. Doable, right? I mean, fall only stared yesterday, so three months? Let’s take a look, shall we?
Dark Lord of Derkholm
I have never read anything by Diana Wynne Jones, but I know that she wrote “Howl’s Moving Castle”. I bought “Dark Lord of Derkholm” because it sounds funny, chaotic and magical and like something you can sit on the couch or in bed at night and truly relax after a long day at work after dealing with stupid people doing stupid things all day. (You know what I mean.)
Okay, before everybody starts to scream at me…no, I haven’t read it yet but I will! I am really, absolutely, positively willing to start it and finish it. Really. I mean, it’s not like I haven’t tried yet but third time’s the charm, right? Right.
Smoke & Summons
I love Charlie N. Holmberg’s books. They are enchanting and thrilling and wonderful. I liked so many of her other books and I’m sure this one won’t be any different. I can’t wait to get into this new world.
The Missing of Clairdelune
God, I can’t wait to read this book! I CAN’T WAIT! I loved the first book of the series and I was so psyched to buy the next part and I can’t wait for the next book that comes out in November (I think). The only reason I haven’t read it yet is that it’s rather heavy and a pain to carry it to work in my bag every day. 😅
So, what do you think? Do you know any of the books?
