Wet, wet, Wednesday

Hello, sweet peas!

It’s my baby sister’s birthday today, yippeh! There is still a present to be finished and a dinner to be had for that but I still wanna post something for Sam’s WWW Wednesday.

As always the Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?

Still trying myself at “A court of thorns and roses”. No, I didn’t get very far since last week. I’m pretty sure it’s putting me in a slump.

I’m also still trying to read “The Coldest Girl in Coldtown” which works better but still slow. I’ve noticed that I quite like Holly Black’s writing though.

The only thing that does work great is “Simon Thorn and the wolf’s den”. It’s a reread, so I knew what I would be getting into but I’m still enjoying it the second time around.

What did I recently finish reading?

I did read “The midwinter witch” yesterday. It’s a graphic novel, so I was actually done rather quickly but Goodreads counts it as a book, so this totally counts.
It’s the third in a series and while I liked the first two novels rather well and this premise was really nice, I was kinda disappointed how fast the conflicts were resolved.

What will I be reading next?

I don’t know yet. Somehow I’m really, really craving a good middlegrade book which is why I put “Cogheart” on my nightstand for the time being.

I might also reread “City of the Beasts” by Isabel Allende. I haven’t read it in a while but I remember that it was very good.

  1. Ugh, I get that A Court of Thorns and Roses might put you into a reading slump – same thing happened to me when I tried listening to the audiobook. :’D ‘The Midwinter Witch’ looks so good! Definitely going to check it out ❤

  2. Both of the books you may read next look like great reads (or rereads) Isabel Allende is such a beautiful writer, I haven’t read The City of the Beasts but I read The Japanese Lover years ago and loved it. Happy reading!

  3. I really enjoy Holly Black’s writing, too, even though I haven’t read that particular book by her yet. Simon Thorn sounds really interesting! This reminds me that I’ve been wanting to read Cogheart, too. :3 I should look for it! Happy reading.

    Here’s my WWW post.
