June Wrap-up // this time on time!

Hey, guys!

June was honestly such a weird month. Not because what’s happened in the world – it just had a really detached, unreal feel to it, you know? I had a lot to do, so blogging and social media got a little pushed back but now I’m back at work and hopefully to my routine and everything looks up again.

Okay, what happened was:

♣️ I was on holiday. Which was weird. I mean, it was my first holiday since Christmas and after all these hard weeks with five times the workload during the Corona lockdown, I was glad that I didn’t have to go to work every day. But since there is still a travel ban or at least there was one, we couldn’t go anywhere and the holiday at my boyfriend’s parent’s place, the whole thing felt kinda wasted.

♣️ I got 400 followers on the blog. Honestly, I didn’t think I would ever make it that far. Guys, just so you know, I appretiate every singe one of you and I’m so happy you are here and that you ar interested in what I’m writing and my little blog. You guys are amazing. 🎉🎉🎉

♣️ I joined Scribd. Seriously, I will forever be amazed that things like Scribd exist. I feel a certain sense of wonder. I have found so many books there I want to read. Ooh, I’m so glad twitter introduced me to this.
In case you don’t what Scribd is, it’s basically a online library. You pay a monthly fee for it and you can read all the books they have available. Audiobooks, magazines, books, articles. Sure, they don’t have anything but it’s definitely good for my wallet, especially since I have rediscovered ebooks last month. Also, if you invite somebody to come try it out, you and the friend get a month free. Here’s my link, in case you wanna try. https://www.scribd.com/g/8j9gkw

♣️ I did my driver’s ed theory exam. One of the reasons my holidays were so bleak was that I finally did my theory exams for my driver’s licence and that meant A LOT of studying. Also, I was super nervous. My whole life long I have hated exams, but since my sister was with me, it was a little more bearable. (Li, if you read this, I love you. <3)

While Scribd has definitely helped with my new ebook-haul-addiction, I still have added some books to my little library.

The Land of Roar by Jenny McLachlan

It’s also my current read. It’s beautiful inside and out. There are so many pretty illustrations and the story is so cute.

When Arthur and Rose were little, they were heroes in the Land of Roar, an imaginary world that they found by climbing through the folding bed in their grandad’s attic. Roar was filled with things they loved – dragons, mermaids, ninja wizards and adventure – as well as things that scared them (including a very creepy scarecrow. . .) Now the twins are eleven, Roar is just a memory. But when they help Grandad clean out the attic, Arthur is horrified as Grandad is pulled into the folding bed and vanishes. Is he playing a joke? Or is Roar . . . real?

The Red Casket by Darby Karchut

It’s the sequel to Del Toro Moon. I loved that book and I love the sequel too.

For four hundred years, generations of the Family Del Toro and their battle-savvy warhorses have secretly guarded their corner of Colorado from all things creepy. But when a menacing woman with some wicked witch powers shows up at the Del Toro ranch and demands the return of the Red Casket, twelve year old Matt Del Toro must team up with his best friend Perry—along with the warhorses Rigo and Isabel—to out-wit, out-ride, and out-fight one Viking-size sorceress.

June was a rather good reading month for me. I read 10 books! That’s so great. Okay, most of them were on the shorter side but it counts! Here are the books that I’ve read:

Camp Half-Blood Confidential by Rick Riordan

In response to an awful camp orientation video created by the god Apollo, Percy Jackson and other residents of Camp Half-Blood answer such questions as “What is this place?” and “Do I get to keep the T-shirt?” Newbies can check out the section on the Divine Cabins, read up on Magical Landmarks, and consult the chapter of Training Arenas. But Camp Half-Blood Confidential explores much more than just the buildings and grounds. It includes info that can only be learned from those who live there.

I managed one review 😅:

That’s pretty much it. I haven’t really written any other posts, so there is no reason to put anything else here. 😅

How was your June? Did you do anything fun? Come and chat!

  1. I’m so impressed that you’re on time! I am … not … oops? Well. The hero’s always fashionably late, right? *flips hair*

Congrats on 400 followers! You deserve it, and so much more! Hope you enjoyed the vacation, too, even if you couldn’t go anywhere. Hubby and I caved and we’re taking a week at the end of July and just planning on picnicking, hiking, and sitting at home and we’re determined to enjoy just not working for a while. xD
