WWW Wednesday // Nothing new to report. Besides books

I don’t really have anything to say today. The weather is hot and I managed to get next week off which gives me time to get all the things done, that I usually don’t get done during the week, so that’s a plus. Other than that…meh.

The three WWWs are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

The mostly invisible boy by A.J. Vanderhorst

A cute book that I read for a blogtour! If you want to know what I thought about it, follow the link!

The Secret Garden – Graphic Novel

The Secret Garden is one of my very favourite books. So of course I jumped when the opportunity to read the graphic novel presented itself.

A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting by Joe Ballarini

I still have to collect my thoughts on this one. Mostly it was pretty funny and rather good too.

The Crackledawn Dragon by Abi Elphinstone

It did not come last Wednesday, as expected. It came a few days later. Which is fine. I’m trying to savour this one and not rush through it, which is a bit difficult since it’s just as good as I imagined. 🙂

Greetings from Witness Protection! by Jake Burt

To pace myself I’m doing a reread of Greetings from Witness Protection! from Jake Burt and it’s just as good as I remember it. I absolutely love it and I’m basically flying through it, so I’ll probably have to find something else to pace myself with after that. lol

Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

After having read Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon, I’ve decided to give her other books a try. I was not as teary-eyed as the others from IfD but tell me honestly, will Everything, Everything destroy me emotionally?

Do you know any of the books on my list? What have you been reading over the last week? Any plans for future reads?

  1. I think the secret garden might make a better graphic novel than text novel, honestly! When I read it (audiobook) I wanted to see what the garden looked like, so the pictures would have been really helpful for my enjoyment.

The Crackledawn Dragon looks neat! I love that cover.

    1. I have to admit, I love the novel more than the graphic novel. Maybe it’s just me, being all protective over one piece of my childhood but I felt like the graphic novel didn’t really do Mary justice. Or Martha. And while I loved the drawings, I felt it was still a bit grey, even though it gets more colourful the further you get into the story.

I absolutely love all of Abi Elphinstone’s books. Crackledawn Dragon ist unfortunately the last in the series but I’m contemplating finishing this and just starting all over again. I love her writing so much. ❤

  2. I’m so glad you’re enjoying The Crackledawn Dragon and that it’s as good as you thought it would be! I have it on my TBR but might try to wait until school holidays so I can savour it!

    1. I totally get it! I did that with Jungledrop, I tried to draw it out as much as I could but I think I don’t want to torture myself with this one. Tell me when you get to it, so we can gush about it together! 🙂
