Hello, sweet peas!
I picked this tag off Meeghan because I thought you might be interested to know some stuff about me. (Since the About me page is still lacking – oops.) I had fun answering all of those questions and if you want to answer them too, be my guest. Feel tagged. Or surrender some information about yourself in the comments. 😝 Enjoy!
1. What was the last book you read?

It was actually a graphic novel called “The Prince and the Dressmaker” by Jen Wang.It was actually a graphic novel called “The Prince and the Dressmaker” by Jen Wang.
2. Was it a good one?
Yeah, I really liked it. It was exactly what I needed after a long and hard week.
3. What made it good?
Well, it was not that unique in it’s character arc and I pretty much knew how it would end before I even opened it but it still had a very good feel to it and made me smile.
4. Would you recommend it to other people?
Yeah, fans of graphic novels should definitely give it a go. It’s very sweet.
5. How often do you read?
Not as often as I wish I would but I try to squeeze a few minutes in every day.
6. Do you like to read?
Do I…you know what? Not even gonna ask. Yes, I like to read.
7. What was the last bad book you read?
I’ve actually have a rather good run lately. I was not too fond of “One bad apple” by Sheila Conelly though, but that was somewhen in the beginning of the year.
8. What made you dislike it?

Besides the fact that it was rather slow – which I get, it’s the first in a series, that needs some establishing – I just didn’t understand the actions of the protagonist. It was not logical at all and it seemed to me that they just ran out of ideas and wanted to get the book done.
9. Do you wish to be a writer?
There was a time in my life where I definitely wanted nothing more than become a writer. I really did. And then I started working in a bookshop. I loved it. Even now, years later, I feel like that was the best time of my life. But it showed me a world behind the glitter and glamour of the book world and somehow it doesn’t look that appealing anymore.
10. Has any book ever influenced you greatly?
I guess every book I’ve ever read has influenced me to some extent. “Tuesday at Morrie’s” helped me in a time when I was quite unsure of myself.
11. Do you read fan-fiction?
I do. It’s amazing how good some of those are.
12. Do you write fan-fiction?
I did at some point. Still do sometimes but not with the same conviction anymore. But sometimes there is just a tv episode or a book that works so much inside you that your fingers are itching to write something down.
13. What is your favourite book?
I once read a quote that said: “The one who can answer that question hasn’t read more than ten books in his life.” It’s just impossible to pick only one.
14. What is your least favourite book?
Equally hard to answer but for a different reason. I actually like most of the books I read and the ones I don’t I don’t even finish.
15. Do you prefer physical books or ready on a device (like Kindle)?
I have phases where I read more on my kindle but mostly physical books to be honest. There is something about physical books and my Kindle is rather old and the battery is kinda shot. Still, it was a present and I don’t want to get a new one.
16. When did you learn to read?
I was rather young. About three. I have very few memories about actually learning it, so it feels like I’ve always known how to do it. 😅
17. What is your favourite book you had to read in school?
I hated reading books in school. They were always super boring and it always had this air of “have to” to it. We did read “Charlie and the Chocolate factory” in English class when I was about ten though. Roald Dahl is my favourite author and I remember loving it so much.
18. What is your favourite book series?
Oh, hard to say. Series implies more than three books, right? I’m rather fond of Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum books but of course it’s again very hard to only pick one.
19. Who is your favourite author?
Roald Dahl. Hands down.
20. What is your favourite genre?
I love Middle grade books. There is something uncomplecated and thrilling about it. They have adventure and friendship, maybe the first innocent crush and often magic or something similar.
21. Who is your favourite character in a book series?
I’m quite fond of Miss Marple. 🙂
22. Has a book ever transported you somewhere else?
All the time.
23. Which book do you wish had a sequel?
Most books are actually mostly finished, aren’t they? I seldom wish for a sequel but sometimes for a side character to get their own story.
24. Which book do you wish DIDN’T have a sequel?
I haven’t read Cursed Child but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t really needed. I think the story of Harry Potter was pretty much finished with the end of Deathly Hallows.
25. How long does it take you to read a book?
That really depends. At the moment I’m rather slow, so definitely more than a week.
26. Do you like when books become movies?
Some of them are quite good. It all depends if they keep to the story. Of course I know that you cannot put everything you have in a book into a movie but there is no reason to change major parts of the plot.
27. Which book was ruined by its movie adaptation?
Well, the book was not ruined. Of course not. The book is its own thing. But I positively hated the movie to “Percy Jackson”. The book has a very, very special place in my heart and the movie was just terrible.
28. Which movie has done a book justice?
I quite liked the adaptation of “Hungergames”. I think the stuck quite close to the book.
29. Do you read newspapers?
Yes. I prefer the local newspaper but I also read world news.
30. Do you read magazines?
No, not really.
31. Do you prefer newspapers or magazines?
Newspapers.
32. Do you read while in bed?
Yes.
33. Do you read while on the toilet?
Yes…
34. Do you read while in the car?
No, actually.
35. Do you read while in the bath?
We only have a shower, so no.
36. Are you a fast reader?
I used to be faster.
37. Are you a slow reader?
At the moment, yes.
38. Where is your favourite place to read?
Bed, couch, train.
39. Is it hard for you to concentrate when you read?
It depends. I can tune out music but I cannot focus if my boyfriend is watching videos or is gaming.
40. Do you need a room to be silent while you read?
No, no exactly. But talking is distracting.
41. Who gave you your love for reading?
I think it was my mom. But then again, she actually admitted that she never really read to me since I could do it on my own. But I have very fond memories of climbing in her bed in the very early mornings before kindergarden and school when it was still dark out and we both sat there drinking coffee and hot milk and both of us reading a few pages of our current books.
42. What book is next on your list to read?
I have a few. “The missing of Clairdelune”, “Aurora Rising”, “Dark Lord of Derkholm”, “The Mystery of the Blue Train”, “The road to ever after” and “Danny the champion of the world”.
43. When did you start to read chapter books?
Chapter books? I have honestly no idea.
44. Who is your favourite children’s book author?
Still Roald Dahl.
45. Which author would you most want to interview?
I’m more the “Don’t meet your heros” kinda girl, so I’m good.
46. Which author do you think you would be friends with?
I actually am friends with an author. I sometimes get weird questions or she runs a scenario or a plotline by me and I get to read some of her Wips long before they are published. It’s pretty cool.
47. What book have you reread the most?
I think it’s probably Harry Potter. Also The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke.
48. Which books do you consider “classics?”
I can’t really answer that. I guess books become classics with time. Books that mean something to people, that teach you things, that inspire you and hold literary value. I guess in a few years the Harry Potter books might be a classic too, if they aren’t already.
49. Which books do you think should be taught in every school?
See, that’s the thing. Of course there will be books taught in school and there should be. But I guess there are books that are just not suited for students. Not because they are bad. It’s just that every student is different and most won’t take anything from books they are not interested in at all. We had to read a lot of Hesse and Brecht when I was at school and I absolutely hated it. I found it convaluted and boring and it put me off those authors forever.
In the very end of my schooling, the year I took my A-levels we had to pick 10 books to read over the semester which would be part of our exams. We had absolutely free range and I think that’s far better. Let them pick the books themselves because all that heavy stuff…they might become interested in that later.
50. Which books should be banned from all schools?
Well, I guess there is no sense in reading erotica with your class. Or books that have too many pages. So, don’t make them read Stephen King over the course of one month or something.

Stephanie Plum is my hero 😍… maybe not hero… maybe more like ‘spirit animal’… I just coouldn’t handle the peanut butter and olive sandwiches… 🤮
Alos, I’m so glad you enjoyed The Prince and the Dressmaker – it was so cute!!
