A glimpse into April // Let’s try the possibility pile again

Hello, sweet peas!

I think it’s time to try a couple of new goals again. I like to put them up at the beginning of the month and then forget about them and see at the end of the month what I inadvertendly did. Well, let’s just see how this is gonna go.

πŸ“š Goal 1 – Read and review eArcs

I have two eArcs from Netgalley still that need reading and reviewing. One is “The Girl in the Wooden Armour” that I have already started. I quite like the book although I’m not okay with some of the dad’s choices.

πŸ“š Goal 2 – Write at least 4 reviews

Since it worked great last month, I hope that I can continue with that streak. I have some ideas which books I wanna review but I have to take some new pictures.

πŸ“š Goal 3 – Do buddy reads

My buddy read of “Aurora Burning” with Sammie is not really going well. I’m just not feeling it. But Sammie got “Bridge of Souls” approved from her library, so we are gonna read that.

πŸ“š Goal 4 – Write at least one discussion post!

This month I wanna write at least one discussion post. Or just any post that is not a WWW Wednesday or a review. I have so many ideas but the problem is finding some content for those ideas.

πŸ“š Goal 5 – Update the tbr page of my blog

It’s the same goal I had last month and I have started. The problem is that I have really a lot of books on my tbr and I’m not done updating that page.

πŸ“š Goal 6 – Continue reading IT

I’m still only 100 pages in and I know it might still take a while to finish this book. But if I read a little bit every day, then I might just get it done this month.

πŸ“š Goal 7 – Read at least 3 books from the tbr and don’t buy any new ones

I look at my real actual personal tbr and have to sigh because it’s just so big. I really have to read some of the books that are on there and I won’t buy any new books this month. At least I will try. I know that there are a lot of great books coming out in May and I’m gonna want to read them all so I’ll just try and read some off the tbr first. I think 3 is a modest number and it’s so low and easier achievable and I don’t wanna be disappointed in case I don’t make it which might be the case with a bigger number.

The Possibility Pile

Look. I know that I didn’t read one book of my Possiblity Pile last month. But to be fair, I didn’t read that many books at all last month. More like seven? I definitely wanna do better this month and so I’m just putting some new books on that pile.

πŸ“š The Storm Runner by J.C. Cervantes. I think I can not do anything wrong with a Rick Riordan Presents book. It has mythology and disability rep and I just think that I might have a lot of fun with this book.

πŸ“š Every Hidden Thing by Kenneth Oppel. Kenneth Oppel is one of my favourite authors. This one is a standalone and I’m quite curious about it although that’s what I said when I bought it a couple of years ago too.

πŸ“š Pages & Co – Tilly and the lost fairytales by Anna James. I actually loved the first book so I hope I will like the sequel as well.

πŸ“š The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary. I heard a lot of good things about this book and it has been lying on my tbr for long enough now. I think it’s good to have some variety on my Possibilty Pile and while I’m not that much into romance books anymore I still hope that I will like this one.

πŸ“š The Highland Falcon Thief by M.G. Leonard. I love trains. I would definitely love to ride a steampowered train all across England or across any (small) country. I’m curious about this book and hope that I will like it.

πŸ“š The Mysterious Affair at Syles by Agatha Christie. I have decided that I will definitely read the first Hercule Poirot mystery next. I do have some books of the series unread at home but this one will definitely be the next one I read.

What are your plans for April? Do you know any books on my list? Do you have any recommendations?

  1. I have heard lots of good things about pages and Co, I hope to get to reading the series soon. And the Mysterious affair at Styles was a great book, I read it earlier this yearπŸ™‚

  2. I love the possibility pile! The Flat Share sounds so good! It’s been on my TBR for a while but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hope you enjoy whatever you decide to read! πŸ™‚

    • I managed to start The Flatshare. It’s not bad so far. You should definitely give it a chance then we can compare. πŸ˜‰

  3. I love that you make monthly goals! I have been wanting to do that more in 2021 along with quarterly ones.
I’ve heard good things about most of the books you mentioned, and I hope you love them all!

    • Thank you so much. I have already managed to read one of the books which is great by my standards. I hope you have a great month too!

  4. I feel like I should just go ahead and copy all of your goals and make them mine, too. xD I feel you so much on needing to do aaaaall these things. It feels like I haven’t even written a review in eternity, even though I know I have. I already failed the don’t buy new books thing, though, so that one obviously doesn’t apply LOL.

Oooh, I still need to read The Storm Runner, too! I keep forgetting. It’s really hard to go wrong with RRP books.
