Hello, sweet peas!
It is the first of March and I’m writing my glimpse post! Yeah, I can hardly believe it myself! 😂
No, but honestly. I’m at work and I should do work-related stuff like punching in orders and make phonecalls, clean my desktop and avoid getting shouted at but I’m here and I’m typing and I’m actually quite excited about the idea of a Possibility Pile!
What is a Possibility Pile, you ask? Possibility Pile is a term dear Sammie @The Bookwyrm’s Den has coined and it’s basically something like a tbr but without all the stress. I don’t know about you but somehow monthly tbrs are always a cause of stress for me. I just cannot stick to them even if I want to. And then I feel bad that I didn’t reach my goal. Maybe I have a problem with authority. Or a problem with sticking to lists. I don’t even know.
Anyway, I think I’m gonna make a Possibility Pile and put all the books that interest me and that I might read this month. If yes, great! I have tricked myself into a great reading experience! If not: No worries! It was just a stack of possible books and I don’t have to beat myself up about it! 🎉🎉🎉
But before we dive into that, let’s take a look at all the other goals I have for this month, shall we?
📚 Goal 1 – Read and review eArcs
I actually have two(!) eArcs that I got approved for! I’m so happy about this. It’s finally picking up. I mean, I don’t think that I will get any books from the big publishers but still. An arc is an arc is an arc. I have The Magic Place by Chris Wormell and All our hidden gifts by Caroline O’Donoghue on my shelf.
📚 Goal 2 – Read the BOTM for the Middlegrade Marvels Bookclub
I haven’t actually read any BOTM with the bookclub in a while. I really wanna do it again. They have two planned for March but I think I’m only gonna read Nightbooks by J.A. White. It’s said to be gritty and full of stories and that sounds just wonderful.
📚 Goal 3 – Write at least 4 reviews
Okay, you know. Maybe 5 reviews are just unrealistic. I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve ever managed it. But once a week should be doable and since I actually enjoy writing them, I don’t think it should be too much of a struggle.
📚 Goal 4 – Do buddy reads
I actually just wanted to do one buddy read but maybe it’ll be two this month. 😅 Bridge of Souls by Victoria Schwab is gonna be released tomorrow (I think?) and depending when that gets delivered I will read it with my friend Sammie! We’ve also planned on reading Aurora Burning but that depends on when Sammie will finish Aurora Rising. 😅
📚 Goal 5 – Write another kickass discussion post!
I was super proud of my post about Reading Buddies last month and I hope that I can write another one that excites me similarly! I don’t know what I will write exactly yet but there are heaps of things in my draft folder that needs to be written, so I hope that will be okay. If there is anything you would want me to write, feel free to make suggestions!
📚 Goal 5 – Update the tbr page of my blog
I mean, yeah. I really oughta do that. That list is so old and I kinda like having it on my blog, so I also gotta maintain it. I always find some books I haven’t thought of in a while when I look through it and I hope that it gets me to read some older books on my tbr. Nevertheless, it’s gonna be a lot of work….
The Possibility Pile
Like I said, these are some of the possible books I might quite possibly read. Maybe at the end of the month I will take a look at this list and laugh at myself for even trying. But hey, I can always try. That’s the beauty of it.
📚 Chilling Effect by Valerie Valdes. I mean. It has psychic cats. And space. And it sounds hilariously funny and thrilling. The way I see it there is also some found family in the mix. I think this could be great. I haven’t really read anything science fiction in a while (if you don’t count Sal and Gabi break the universe, but that’s not that much science fiction).
📚 The Dreamsnatcher by Abi Elphinstone. Because there should not be to much time between two Abi Elphinstone books. And while I’m waiting for the Crackledawn dragon, I can also start her ther trilogy. It looks delightful.
📚 The Strangeworlds Travel Agency by L.D. Lapinski. I have already started that book and it was great. Now, just don’t ask me why I didn’t continue. I think I just got sidetracked. But I know that it’s gonna be great. So great!
📚 Wonderscape by Jennifer Bell. I mean. The cover is marvellous. Not that you should judge a book by its cover, of course. I just have a really good feeling about this book. I think it might be full of adventure and magic and science and did I mention adventure? I’m so hyped.
📚 The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I think that this book could actually be really good for my mental health. It’s difficult at the moment, everything is and I could rant so much about the state of the world and stuff but I won’t. I think this book might help me with some stuff and I’m looking forward to reading it in a quiet moment.
📚 Return to Roar by Jenny MacLaughlin. I love that we can go back to Roar! I absolutely loved the first book and now that the next one is already coming out this summer, it’s time to catch up with the sequel. I love the artwork in the book and can’t wait to read it.
Do you know any of the books on my list? Have you read any of them or would you want to?
