MG Takes on Thursday //Books about books

Hello, dear sweet peas!

It’s time for me to wave some great Middlegrade books in your face again. You already expected that? Well, great!

MGTakesOnThursday is a weekly feature from Mary at BookCraic to celebrate the love for Middle Grade Books! The steps to take part are here.

Today I wanna show you a book I’ve recently reviewed and still think it needs a little more attention:

Pages & Co – Tilly and the Bookwanderers by Anna James

41713778. sy475
Harper Collins Children’s books

Tilly had never been far outside London, but she felt like a seasoned traveller within the pages of books: she had raced across the rooftops of Paris, learned to ride a broomstick and seen the Northern lights from the deck of a ship.

Eleven year-old Tilly has lived above her grandparents’ bookshop ever since her mother disappeared shortly after she was born. Like the rest of her family, Tilly loves nothing more than to escape into the pages of her favourite stories. One day Tilly realises that classic children’s characters are appearing in the shop through the magic of `book wandering’ – crossing over from the page into real life. With the help of Anne of Green Gables and Alice in Wonderland. Tilly is determined to solve the mystery of what happened to her mother all those years ago, so she bravely steps into the unknown, unsure of what adventure lies ahead and what dangers she may face.

What books do bookworms love more than any others? Books about books of course! And what a wonderful and whimsical and delightful book it is. It takes you with it into a new and thrilling world that also feels so warm and familiar. Look here to read my whole review.

  1. Fantastic choice. I loved this and it’s very popular in class. I have bought the third one and will hopefully get to it soon.

    • I really loved it. I didn’t actually think I would like it that much but the farther I got the more I liked it. I’m even thinking about reading some of the books featured in Pages & Co. 🙂

  2. I haven’t done one of these in forever, and I really need to. T_T There’s just not enough time in the week for all the blog posts lol.

I’ve heard really great things about this one! I haven’t read it yet, but I definitely want to. You’re right. We bookworms sure do like our books about books. It’s almost like … we really like books? Is that weird or what? xD

    • It was the first book for the Middlegrade Marvels bookclub but of course I didn’t read it. It seems like I cannot stick to the preplanned stuff. 😂😂😂

      • Yeeeah, I didn’t read it, either. My problem is that it takes so long for me to get the holds, and then by the time I get them, everyone else is moving on and I’m like … welp, I have all the time in the world to read this, then, I guess. *back onto the TBR it goes*
