Today it’s time to shine a spotlight on “Princess Ever After”, the fifth and last book in the Rosewood Chronicles. The review is gonna be a bit shorter than my review for the first book and more in the mini-review territory but I think you’ll get the idea anyway. 🙂

This is the fifth and last book in the Rosewood Chronicles and I read it without having read the second, third or fourth book. It was a bit difficult to be honest. It was possible to understand and somehow slip back into the book and this world but I wouldn’t really recommend it. There were a few new characters that I didn’t know yet and references to things that happened that I obviously didn’t know about. There was, however, something like a small recap at the beginning, which shed some light.
Much more than finding out about the plot, I was curious about the characters. What had happened to Ellie and Lottie and Jamie? Were they completely different people now?
Well, I’m happy to report, that the characters have grown but haven’t changed that much. Lottie is still kind but has more confidence now. Ellie is still rebellious. Jamie – well, there have been some developments that made me raise my eyebrows. I still loved their “friendship” which has evolved into something more. That was a development that I really liked. I already thought that that would come but still. Nice to have hunches validated.
The plot in total was nice but rather predictable for me. I couldn’t really care for all the danger and Leviathan too much. But that’s fine. In the end we get our HEA and everything is well.
TL;DR A nice but rather predictable ending to the series in my opinion. I liked the characters, there is LGBTQ representation, friends-to-lovers and found family trope but in the end it was not as special as I had hoped. Still, if you like the series, it’s surely worth reading.

Great review Marion!! I started reading this one but felt that you really do need to read the others, so I’ve put hold on the rest of the series from library. Will hopefully be picking up the second book over the weekend.
Yeah, I get it. Especially at the beginning I was pretty much going “What now?”. So I don’t actually recommend that jump. I hope you have fun with the second book. I think I will focus on other books for now.
