Hello, sweet peas!

Will I continue with those ridiculous alliterations in my WWW posts? Why yes. Yes, I will. πŸ˜‚

Okay, we all know I will be out of ideas until the end of the month.

Anyway, it’s time for Sam’s WWW Wednesday again. I didn’t have any time last week but I also hadn’t read that much so that post would just have been a repetition from the week before.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently reading:

19162613

I’m currently reading Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods by Rick Riordan. I found it at the library. Of course I was aware of the book but I never felt like reading much about the Greek Gods specifically since that was what my thesis in school was about and I pretty much thought I know everything about them. Well, the stories I’m reading now are not new but I still love Rick Riordan’s writing. It might also give me the boost I need to finish the books by him that are still unread.

Recently finished:

30623067

One of them was a graphic novel called Be Prepared by Vera Brosgol. It made me think of a summer camp I went to when I was nine. It was not Russian and it had not anything to do with camping but I was just the same age as the protagonist back then and it was also similarly segregated by age and gender… and I hated it too. I don’t have many fond memories of it. Although now that I think of it, my mom was very heavily pregrant with my sister at the time and maybe needed some downtime.
Ha, you see, a graphic novel that takes you down memory lane. And it’s full of feelings too.

The other book I recently finished was Woodwalkers by Katja Brandis. It was different from what I expected but still good. I liked the characters and the different classes the kids had to take. I might read the other books as well.

Next read:

3029853. sy475

It’s probably going to be this here – Too many curses by A. Lee Martinez since I got that from the library as well. I like Martinez’ books. They are hilariously funny and I’m sure this one will be no exception.

  1. To be quite honest, I haven’t read a graphic novel ever but I am very inclined to read some this year. I think it’s a genre I would enjoy a lot, too!

  2. I love Rick Riordan too! I have done so much research and so many papers on Greek Mythology – I love to read anything with mythology in it ❀️

      • I’ve read most of the Percy Jackson series but I don’t think I’ve read the Greek Gods book. I’ll have to pick it up 😊

    • Oh, I hope you pick a great one. There are so many out there and I feel like I still haven’t even scraped the surface. πŸ™‚

    • Thank you. I also have some better summer camp memories but not from that year. πŸ˜… Be prepared is really sweet but somehow also kinda sad. πŸ™‚

  3. That Woodwalkers cover is strangely mesmerizing! I am another one who hasn’t read a graphic novel in a while – I should! I usually enjoy them when I do πŸ™‚

    • I know, they are very pretty. The rest in the series also look somewhat like them but with different characters and animals on them. πŸ™‚ I hope you find a graphic novel that piques your interest. πŸ™‚

  4. I’ve actually somehow not read a Rick Riordan book? I need to do that this year, though! Woodwalkers has a really interesting cover! Almost reminds me of the old Animorphs covers. I want to read it, but I can’t seem to find it in English. What a shame. D: Happy reading!

    Here’s my WWW post.

    • I first thought it was an American author too, but she’s German. Too bad that you cannot read them, they are quite fun. :/ And yes, there is Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods and one with Greek Heroes! They are insanely fun. It’s absolutely pulling me out of my slump. <3
