Hey, guys!
Happy #humpday! I hope everybody is okay, mentally and physically, is eating their veggies and sleeping enough.
It’s time for WWW Wednesday again. As you know the three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Tales from the Hinterland by Melissa Albert

I loved The Hazelwood and the glimpse of the fairytales we got and I’m so happy that we have a book with all the tales now. So far they are bloody and creepy and sad and I’m delighted but I also hope that there will be something a little less bloody.
Explorer Academy – The Nebula Secret by Trudi Trueti

I read the first book and was in love. It’s just the right action-packed, mysterious secret-academy type of book full of friendship and mysteries that I love. I even got myself the other books in the series, although they were unfortunately not availabe as an ebook.
Nightmares! – The lost lullaby by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller

I finished my first series of the year! Okay, I have read these books before but I guess it still counts. I feel like the book wasn’t as good as its predecessors but still okay and a fast read.
Nightmare Academy by Dean Lorey

Yeah, it’s all about nightmares with me at the moment. I feel like this book had a lot of potential but didn’t really do anything with it. It had book ideas but somehow the execution of those ideas was a little flawed. Too bad.
The Marriage Game by Sara Desai

I thought I’d do something else next and read something light and fluffy. Isn’t the cover so cute? I also saw that they have the author’s next book on Netgalley but I guess I won’t get approved for that one.
What have you been reading lately? Do you know any of the books on my list? What do you want to read next?
Explorer Academy, in particular, looks absolutely wonderful. Happy reading!
Thank you! I really like the series so far. I thought there would only be five books but I think that there will be more. 🙂
Agree about Nightmares! I enjoyed the series as the whole though! Happy reading!!
My WWW!
Yeah, I think it was a bit slower than the other books. I really liked the first and the second book. I don’t know. Maybe I just didn’t like how they portrayed Charlie as the mean guy and Jake as the saint, event though Charlie’s thinking made sense.
Yeah, I get that.. it was a bit different. I didn’t know that he’s written other series, did you? I don’t think they are rated very well but was surprised when I saw them on bookoutlet! I had no idea! I actually purchased book 1 of Nightmares because he was doing a meet and greet here, it was cool to meet him!
The Otherworld-series you mean? I have the first book on my tbr but I haven’t read it yet. I’m curious about it, though. Maybe I’ll get to it soon.
Yes, that’s the one! I am curious too. If you get to it, I’ll look forward to what you think!
I didn’t love The Hazel Wood, but I still keep getting g drawn to Tales from the Hinterland just for its beautiful cover!!
Yeah, Hazelwood is a little dark and surely doesn’t give you many fuzzy feelings. But I was really interested in the fairy tales, so I just had to get that book. 🙂
I love fairy tale themed books and dark books, I am not a big fan of the fuzzy feelings so didn’t mind that. But I couldn’t get on with the voice or characters.
all these covers are SO PRETTY!
I have to admit that Nightmare Academy doesn’t really strike my fancy but the other ones sure are beautiful. 🙂
Don’t judge me, buuuut … I still haven’t read The Hazelwood? Somehow? I don’t even know what happened, because I’ve had so many intentions to pick it up over the years. I really want to read the Nightmares series! Sorry to hear the last one wasn’t as good as the others, but it makes me want to read the others all the more!
I’m not judging you. It’s not for everybody. It’s dark and gritty and it definitely doesn’t give you any fuzzy feelings. It’s also a little frustrating at times, soooo…
I really liked the Nightmares! series. The last one was weaker in my opinion but it was still a good wrap-up for the series. You should definitely give it a try!
Okay, yes, but I definitely WANT to read it. xD I just haven’t. Because dark and gritty is pretty much my brand. 😛 Other than dragons, obviously.
The Marriage Game sounds great! I love that cover… I hope you will enjoy your books this week and happy reading! Here’s my WWW.
Yeah, I have finished Marriage Game by now. The cover is pretty but I have to admit that I didn’t really enjoy Marriage Game that much…
Oh that’s a shame!
