Hello, my peas!
I almost forgot that it’s Wednesday. Shocking isn’t it? Then again, I woke up with a killer-headache and had other things on my mind. Do forgive me.
Anyway, WWW Wednesday, current reads and stuff. Let’s begin, shall we?
As you know the three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
A Girl Called Owl by Amy Wilson

I have to admit, my enthusiasm for reading has been going down over the last week for a bit. Which is exactly why I’m doing a reread. This and I just like the book and I wanna read the sequel soon, so I want to keep the characters fresh in my mind. It’s a lovely book with a wonderful wintery theme and as you all know, I love a good Middlegrade with ice and snow and some magic.
The Marriage Game by Sara Desai

The Marriage Game is the book I said I was going to read next last week and I did. The cover ist gorgeous and the premise sounded wonderful, it’s just that I didn’t actually enjoy it that much, unfortunately. The characters just weren’t for me. The writing style was easy to read, sure, but in the end that doesn’t help if you don’t like the characters you are following.
Owl and the lost boy by Amy Wilson

I have quite a selection of books I could read next but since I’m just a little unenthusiastic about reading at the moment….anyway, it’s most likely to be this book. I’m really curious about it. (And devastated that the publisher changed the design. They had such a great run. Four different books by Amy Wilson on my shelf and they look really good next to each other. And now they have messed it up with the font and the placement of the author’s name on the spine again. Urg. Why?)
What are your reads of the week? And do you know the books on my list?
Oh, no.. I’m sorry you didn’t like the characters. I hope your next read is better when you find the motivation!
My WWW!
Thank you so much! Yeah, it looks so pretty and the premise is great but in the end, I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. Doesn’t matter. I’m sure better books will come along. 🙂
Oh, no doubt!! Better books are always on the way. 🙂
I really need to read Amy Wilson’s Owl books too. I’ve read her others and really liked them, so would like to back to back these when I can squeeze them in!
Hope your re-read ha helped boost your reading mojo again!
Sorry to hear your motivation is tanking. I’m starting to feel like it’s just that time of year myself. Hopefully a reread helps pull you out of it!
