Hey, guys.
Today is a weird day. I feel like that a lot lately. But I don’t want it to bring me down, so I am gonna focus on something else now and write a post for WWW Wednesday that is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Rule No 1 of bookclub: Nobody talks about bookclub. Besides me. Obviously. Because I have to read two books for the Middle Grade Marvels Bookclub (join us, it’s fun) and I want to talk abou it.
The Jumbies by Tracey Baptiste

This is the BOTM for my bookclub in July and I absolutely adore it. I’m having real trouble sticking to the assigned chapters and not to read all in one go. 😂
Corinne La Mer isn’t afraid of anything. Not scorpions, not the boys who tease her, and certainly not jumbies. They’re just tricksters parents make up to frighten their children. Then one night Corinne chases an agouti all the way into the forbidden forest. Those shining yellow eyes that followed her to the edge of the trees, they couldn’t belong to a jumbie. Or could they? When Corinne spots a beautiful stranger speaking to the town witch at the market the next day, she knows something unexpected is about to happen. And when this same beauty, called Severine, turns up at Corinne’s house, cooking dinner for Corinne’s father, Corinne is sure that danger is in the air. She soon finds out that bewitching her father, Pierre, is only the first step in Severine’s plan to claim the entire island for the jumbies. Corinne must call on her courage and her friends and learn to use ancient magic she didn’t know she possessed to stop Severine and save her island home.
Thomas Wildus and the Book of Sorrows by J.M. Bergen

Another book for the bookclub in July. Although I have to admit that I don’t like this one quite as much.
Thomas thinks he’s an ordinary twelve year old, but when a strange little man with gold-flecked eyes gives him an ancient text called The Book of Sorrows, the world he knows is turned upside down. Suddenly he’s faced with a secret family legacy, powers he can hardly begin to understand, and an enemy bent on destroying everything he holds dear. The more he reads and discovers, the deeper the danger to himself and the people he loves. As the race to the final showdown unfolds, Thomas must turn to trusted friends and uncertain allies as he seeks to prevent destruction at an epic scale.

I might be a little bit obsessed with the books brought out by Rick Riordan Presents. I’m not that far into this one though, but I’m sure it’s gonna be a ride.
Thirteen-year-old comes from a long line of fox spirits. But you’d never know it by looking at her. To keep the family safe, Min’s mother insists that none of them use any fox-magic, such as Charm or shape-shifting. They must appear human at all times. When word arrives that her brother Jun is suspected of leaving his post to go in search of the Dragon Pearl, Min knows that something is wrong. Jun would never desert his battle cruiser, even for a mystical object rumored to have tremendous power. She decides to run away to find him and clear his name.
Min’s quest will have her meeting gamblers, pirates, and vengeful ghosts. It will involve deception, lies, and sabotage. She will be forced to use more fox-magic than ever before, and to rely on all of her cleverness and bravery. The outcome may not be what she had hoped, but it has the potential to exceed her wildest dreams.

The land of Roar by Jenny McLachlan

I’m acutally not exactly sure how many books I’ve read since the last WWW but this one was definitely one of them. It was so cute.
When Arthur and Rose were little, they were heroes in the Land of Roar, an imaginary world that they found by climbing through the folding bed in their grandad’s attic. Roar was filled with things they loved – dragons, mermaids, ninja wizards and adventure – as well as things that scared them (including a very creepy scarecrow. . .) Now the twins are eleven, Roar is just a memory. But when they help Grandad clean out the attic, Arthur is horrified as Grandad is pulled into the folding bed and vanishes. Is he playing a joke? Or is Roar . . . real?
The Demigod Diaries by Rick Riordan

I definitely finished this one after the last WWW. I’m wondering why I even tood a break in the middle of it.
The Demigod Diaries contains four new stories with character interviews, illustrations of Annabeth Chase, Percy Jackson, Jason Grace, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez and a first ever seen picture of Thalia Grace (it also contains a picture of Hal who is a new character in the first story), puzzles, and a quiz. The four stories include: Thalia’s, Luke’s, and Annabeth’s adventures before the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series began. A first-person narrative from Percy’s viewpoint as he and Annabeth complete a task given by Hermes regarding his staff which happens a month after the end of The Last Olympian and before Percy went missing in The Lost Hero. A story involving Jason, Leo, and Piper during their time spent at Camp Half-Blood between The Lost Hero and The Mark of Athena.

As if the two book club books were not enough I will also do a buddy read. I’m definitely not gonna do this again – I mean choosing so many mandatory books – but this one might be rather nice.
And then there were none by Agatha Christie

It has been on my tbr for quite some time, so I hope that I will actually finish it this time.
First, there were ten – a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they’re unwilling to reveal – and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion.

What are you currently reading? What have you just finished? Is there a special book in your future?
The Agatha Christie novel looks so good. I haven’t read one of her books in forever. Happy reading! ❤️
Looking forward to your thoughts on And Then There Were None. It’s my fave Agatha Christie work.🙂
