How is it Wednesday again? I was supposed to have a doctor’s appointment today but that was pushed back and now I have a little extra time before work to type this.

When you are reading this, I have officially given up on Thomas Wildus and the Book of Sorrows. At least for the time being. I also pushed back Dragon Pearl, even though that was far more interesting. But I have so many books that I would rather read, so I’m not sad about any of those two at all.
Projekt Mimesis – Die Insel der Künstlichen Kinder by Simak Büchel
So far I have to say I’m rather disappointed. I expected more and somehow it reads more like written by a kid, rather simple in writing and ideas. Maybe there will be something that will still surprise me and I’m surely gonna finish it because it’s a rather fast read but not as good as I’d hoped.
William Wenton and the Luridium Thief by Bobbie Peers
This one doesn’t really keep me on the edge of my seat with suspense either but it’s fairly more enjoyable. It has a lot about engineering and codes and puzzles which I like and so far I still hope that there will be something great coming.
Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufmann & Jay Kristoff
It’s a reread but this time it’s the audiobook. I haven’t read Aurora Burning yet and usually I have quite a good memory when it comes to plots but I have to admit that I don’t remember too much about this book. Just that I didn’t like it at much as I hoped I would? Well, here’s hoping that I will like the audiobook better and that it reminds me of some stuff.
Seriously, July 2020 might be my best reading month of all time. I’m on a roll.
I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait to read some more by Ross MacKenzie and the worlds that are created. The atmosphere is just amazing.

I’m done with And then there were none and of course the Queen of Crime has kept me guessing. This time I thought I was so close and did I guess right? No, of course not. lol
Half-Minute Horrors by Susan Rich
I’m not much for horror but those small horror stories were fun. Some didn’t faze me at all but some did actually give me chills.
The last kids on earth by Max Brallier
The artwork was good but I’ve noticed that I’m definitely not the target group for that one. I mean, it was funny sure. But the jokes were not really for me. I’m sure a kid that age will have fun with it though.
City of the Beasts by Isabel Allende
Guys, I could tell you a lot about my relationship with this book. A lot. It’s a reread and it’s been a while since I’ve last read it and so I was wondering how I would preceive it this time around. I’m happy to say that I still loved it, even if a little differently.
Our bookclub has chosen a new book for August and I was approached by an author with a review copy of her book which is both utterly exciting! So, that’s what’s next for me.
Small Spaces by Katherine Arden
The new book for the Middlegrade Marvels Bookclub! Not the one I voted for but still. I’m super-excited to read it. The premise sounds great, a little creepy and I hope this time I can keep from just reading everything in one go.
Crisanta Knight – Protagonist bound by Geanna Culbertson
People never ask me to review their books, okay, almost never. So I was very happy to haven been chosen to read and review it and will happily do so. I hope it’s gonna be great.

I actually couldn’t get into Thomas Wildus at all, so at least you gave it a good run! Shadowsmith looks absolutely adorable, and I wants it.
“Not the one I voted for but still.” — I CAN’T IMAGINE WHAT ONE YOU VOTED FOR. *falls over laughing* That one got me. Still, Small Spaces was a pretty good read! I didn’t like it as much as Dead Voices (so if you have a hard time with this one, I recommend trying the sequel anyway). But it’s a fun series either way.
