It’s my birthday! Yay! 🎉🎉🎉
I don’t really celebrate my birthday or think too much about it but the boyfriend™ has already surprised me with a new book this morning and I feel really good. We won’t be able to go out to dinner obviously but I see a very delicous steak in my future so who cares. I’m just really grateful to be alive today. 😊
But this is not about birthdays or steaks, it’s about books, since this is a post about the WWW Wednesday that’s hosted by Sam @ Taking on a world of words it’s obviously about the three Ws.
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Song for a Whale by Lynne Kelly

I started this book yesterday evening and even though I’m just about 60 pages in this might just be the most beautiful contemporary Middlegrade books in existence. I’m feeling so much while reading, I’m glued to the page, I’m in awe with the perspective. I can’t wait to get on with it, I can’t wait to finish it and at the same time I wish I could hold this feeling the book gives me forever. The quality of the writing could plummet with the next page and I wouldn’t care because those first few pages were so amazing.
From fixing the class computer to repairing old radios, twelve-year-old Iris is a tech genius. But she’s the only deaf person in her school, so people often treat her like she’s not very smart. If you’ve ever felt like no one was listening to you, then you know how hard that can be. When she learns about Blue 55, a real whale who is unable to speak to other whales, Iris understands how he must feel. Then she has an idea: she should invent a way to “sing” to him! But he’s three thousand miles away. How will she play her song for him?

This book has been sitting on my tbr for a few years. By now the author has finished the whole series and I’m just not too sure what to think of this book. I guess I’ll have to do a lot of soulsearching for my review.
Lily’s life is in mortal peril. Her father is missing and now silver-eyed men stalk her through the shadows. What could they want from her? With her friends—Robert, the clockmaker’s son, and Malkin, her mechanical fox—Lily is plunged into a murky and menacing world. Too soon Lily realizes that those she holds dear may be the very ones to break her heart…
Otto Tattercoat and the forest of lost things by Matilda Woods

I just finished this book yesterday and like with Cogheart I can’t yet tell what to think about it or what to write about it yet. I will have to let it settle at little. I just noticed that this cover is actually a little different in the details than the one I own. Huh.
In the city of Hodorf, the Tattercoats live by a strict code. Only steal what you need, don’t leave a trace of yourself behind, and if another Tattercoat is in trouble, you must always help them out. These are the rules that guide Nim’s life as she and her rat, Nibbles, live on the streets and the rooftops of the only place she’s ever called home. So when a new boy named Otto comes to town and gets caught up in the devious plottings of a former Tattercoat who’s fallen from grace, Nim takes it upon herself to come to Otto’s rescue.

A Darkness of Dragons by S.A. Patrick

That’s my birthday present and I’m probably gonna read this one next. I love the cover and I love the premise and I already took a peek and I think I will love the writing as well. <3
After playing a forbidden spell-song to save a village from rats, 12-year-old piper Patch Brightwater is thrown in jail. But there he meets Wren – a noble girl under a rat-shaped curse – and together they befriend Barver, a fearsome dracogriff, and set off on a grand adventure filled with sorcerers, dragons, bandits…and one very deadly enemy.
This is it! I hope you guys will have a wonderful day. I wish you all the best, luck, love and happiness, health and that you always have enough! Love you guys! <3
